Hon. Bede Anwataazumo Ziedeng -MP for Lawra

Hon. Bede Anwataazumo Ziedeng is the Member of Parliament for Lawra, representing the constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He hails from Eremon-Lawra and was born on Friday, 22nd October 1954. A Christian by faith, he currently serves in the 8th Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

He holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Ghana, obtained in 1984, and was called to the Bar in 1986 after completing his legal training at the Ghana School of Law. His secondary education was at Nandom Secondary School, where he earned both O and A Level certificates in 1978.

Before entering Parliament, Hon. Ziedeng held several high-level public service positions. He served as Regional Chairman for the Office of Revenue Commissioners in the Northern and Upper East Regions, and held appointments as Deputy Regional Minister, Northern Regional Minister, and Upper West Regional Minister under various administrations. He also worked with the Bank for Housing and Construction in the early years of his career.

In Parliament, he serves as Ranking Member on the Judiciary Committee, and is also a member of the Roads and Transportation Committee, the Security and Intelligence Committee, and the Privileges and Immunities Committee, where he holds the position of Vice Chairperson
