Dr. , the Inspector General of Police (IGP), held a meeting with the New Patriotic Party's () Presidential Election Committee in preparation for the Party's presidential primary scheduled for November 4, 2023.

This meeting, attended by representatives of the flagbearer hopefuls, focused on various aspects including security concerns, police deployment strategies, measures to prevent miscommunication, and ensuring that all stakeholders fulfill their respective roles effectively.

According to a police brief, further discussions will take place in subsequent meetings to address issues related to media accreditation and the involvement of other stakeholders.

The presidential primary is set to take place across 331 polling stations located in 277 constituencies.

The contenders for the 's presidential candidacy include Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Alhaji , Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and Mr. Francis Addai Nimoh.
