NDC constituency chairman downplays NPP threat, commends incumbent MP's achievements: Ghana News

Mr. Abraham Kwasi Sah, the Jaman North Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (), has expressed confidence in the 's prospects in the 2024 elections, downplaying any threat from the New Patriotic Party () parliamentary candidate, Mr. Enock Nyarko.

In an with the , Mr. Sah stated that a critical assessment of Mr. Nyarko led them to believe he would not disrupt the NDC's chances in the upcoming elections. He emphasized the need for hard work to increase their vote margin and not be complacent.

Regarding Mr. Nyarko's victory in the parliamentary primaries, Mr. Sah mentioned that a defeat for Nyarko could demoralize him politically. He added, “Mr. Nyarko's defeat would demoralize him to the point that he would be unable to recover his political career again.”

Mr. Enock Nyarko, a businessman and philanthropist, secured 375 votes in the primaries, defeating other contenders. In the 2020 general election, Mr. Frederick Yaw Ahenkwah, the current Member of for NDC, garnered 22,375 votes to defeat the then-NPP parliamentary candidate.

Mr. Sah acknowledged Mr. Nyarko's success as a businessman and philanthropist but emphasized that political experience was essential, stating that “wealth and leadership have two distinct qualities.” He praised the leadership of Mr. Ahenkwah, citing transparency, accountability, and numerous development projects in the constituency.

Highlighting Mr. Ahenkwah's achievements, Mr. Sah commended the MP for constructing compounds, providing scholarships, purchasing motorbikes for the education directorate, and supporting apprenticeship programs.

He acknowledged challenges in the road network and appealed for residents to grant Mr. Ahenkwah a second chance, asserting that victory for him in the 2024 general election would significantly boost development in the area.
