MTN Ghana has demonstrated its commitment to the Muslim community by donating food items to the office of the Ashanti Regional Chief Imam ahead of the 2024 Eid-ul-Fitr celebration.
The donation, which included bags of rice, bottled water, soft drinks, cooking oil, and a ram, was presented by Mr. Simon Amoh, Senior Manager of General Trade for the Northern Business District of MTN, on behalf of the General Manager.
Mr. Amoh expressed appreciation for the Muslim community's support as subscribers of MTN's products. He emphasized that the gesture was a token of love and empathy towards them after their month-long fasting.
“We appreciate you as an extension of our society and also the fact that you are members of our subscribers who use our products,” he stated during the brief ceremony.
He further extended prayers for the well-being and fulfillment of their desires as they concluded their fasting period.
In response, Sheikh Abdul-Mumin Haroun, the Regional Chief Imam, expressed gratitude to MTN Ghana for its consistent support over the years. He highlighted the company's continuous demonstration of love towards the Muslim community and acknowledged their contributions to fostering peace in the country.
The Chief Imam used the occasion to urge Ghanaians to embrace peace as the nation approached the 2024 general elections, emphasizing that maintaining peace was crucial for the conducive atmosphere enjoyed by companies like MTN in Ghana.
