The Ministry of Finance in Ghana has directed the Controller and Accountant General's Department (CAGD) to implement the new monthly allowance for National Service personnel following government approval. The allowance has been increased from GH¢559 to GH¢715.
The announcement of the increment was made in a statement on Sunday, July 23.
All National Service personnel are advised to be patient as the necessary administrative procedures are being finalized to ensure timely payment of their arrears resulting from the adjustment.
The statement issued by the National Service Secretariat emphasized that “all national service personnel who are currently in active service are entitled in arrears for the difference in the upward adjustment from January 2023 and would be paid accordingly.”
Management of the National Service Scheme urges all personnel to exercise patience during the process of disbursing the arrears.
