MCE donates student armchairs valued at GH₵250,000 to Keta Nurses and Midwifery Training College: Ghana News

Mr. Emmanuel Gemegah, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for in the , has generously donated 400 student armchairs worth GH₵250,000 to the Nurses and Midwifery Training College (NMTC). This donation aimed to alleviate some of the school's infrastructural challenges.

Mr. Gemegah, during an interview with the , explained that the donation was a means to address the pressing issues faced by the school and had received funding from the Municipal Assembly's Internally Generated Fund (IGF).

“This School is training several good nurses, midwives, and others who always give us quality healthcare, and this is how we can also support them for now,” he stated.

Mrs. Mabel Kafui Torku, Principal of the College, received the donated armchairs on behalf of the school's management.

She expressed gratitude to the MCE for his kind gesture and assured that the chairs would be used for their intended purpose.

The new student armchairs are expected to enhance the quality of teaching and learning within the institution.

Additionally, Madam Torku disclosed various other challenges the school currently faces, including insufficient student dormitory space, the absence of a computer laboratory, inadequate teaching and learning materials, a shortage of bungalows, and more.

“One of the most challenging issues is how our students are scattered in the town, exposing them to all forms of risk due to insufficient dormitory,” Madam Torku explained.

Despite these challenges, she vowed that the school would continue to strive to bring out the best in its students.

Furthermore, Madam Torku appealed to corporate organizations, individuals, and the public to assist in addressing the ongoing issues and improving conditions at the Keta Nurses and Midwifery Training College.
