In a tragic incident in Dunkwa Mfuom, the Dunkwa Divisional Police have apprehended one Ato Johnson for the alleged of his wife on Tuesday, accompanied by an attempted suicide.

The Mfuom Community is in a state of shock and mourning following the discovery of the deceased, identified as Suzzy, in a pool of blood with multiple wounds.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing Johnson attempting to end his own life, prompting a swift response from the police who intervened to prevent the suicide.

Deacon Kwabena Acquah, an eyewitness, shared that the couple had been married for just two months, and their recent harmonious relationship had been disrupted by undisclosed misunderstandings.

While the motive behind the tragic act remains unclear, an anonymous witness told the (GNA) that the deceased had filed for divorce.

The witness claimed that Johnson, driven by jealousy upon seeing his wife with another man, ambushed and stabbed her multiple times, leading to her death.

After the alleged crime, Johnson was reported to have consumed a poisonous substance. He was swiftly taken to the Dunkwa Government Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment under police guard.

The body of Suzzy has been deposited at the same hospital's mortuary for autopsy, as the police have initiated investigations into the heartbreaking incident.
