Ghana has formally announced plans to establish a diplomatic mission in Singapore as part of efforts to expand its presence in Asia and strengthen engagement with key global economic hubs.
The announcement was made during a High-Level Consultative Visit led by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable James Gyakye Quayson, from April 10 to 15, 2026.

According to the Ministry, the proposed mission will enhance Ghana’s diplomatic presence, improve consular services for Ghanaian citizens, and serve as a platform to deepen cooperation in trade, investment, technology and capacity building.
During the visit, Honourable Gyakye Quayson held talks with Singapore’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Social and Family Development, Zhulkarmain Abdul Rahim, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties to promote trade and investment for mutual benefit.
Singaporean authorities welcomed the move and expressed readiness to collaborate with Ghana in areas including trade facilitation, institutional development and technical exchange.
The Ministry indicated that the establishment of the mission is expected to open new avenues for partnerships across multiple sectors of both economies.
The Deputy Minister also engaged members of the Diplomatic Corps during the visit, where he highlighted investment opportunities in Ghana.
