The event brought together Heads of State and Government, senior officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives of regional and international organisations.

In his inaugural address, President Museveni highlighted Uganda’s economic progress and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to industrialisation, economic transformation and regional integration.

He also urged African countries to reduce dependence on raw material exports and focus on local processing and manufacturing to create jobs, increase revenue and stimulate economic growth.

President Museveni further called for stronger economic integration across Africa and encouraged international partners to support the continent’s industrialisation agenda. He also highlighted Uganda’s Parish Development Model, which seeks to improve livelihoods through agricultural production, water access and poverty alleviation initiatives.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ghana’s participation reaffirmed the bilateral relations between Ghana and Uganda, as well as Ghana’s commitment to African solidarity, regional stability and cooperation among African states.
