Mr. Cudjoe, speaking on The Big Issue on Citi TV, voiced concern over the recent implementation of the Value Added Tax (VAT) on residential electricity consumption and anticipated the possibility of additional taxes in the future.
He highlighted the government's need for increased revenue and stressed the importance of prudent economic management.
“I think it is important to be very careful how we want to deal with this economy. I pity the next president of this country because what it means is that you are going to deal with this nonsense of taxes and there will be no breathing room at all,” Mr. Cudjoe stated.
His comments reflect apprehension about the challenges the next president will face in managing the economic impact of numerous tax policies implemented by the current administration.
