Headmistress of West Africa Senior High School (WASS) interdicted for unauthorised collection of money from students

The (GES) has taken decisive action against Dr Mrs Shine Agatha Ofori, the headmistress of Senior High School (WASS), for the unauthorized collection of money from students.

In a press release issued by the Head of the Public Relations Unit, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, the interdiction was announced on Thursday, July 20, 2023, in .

Dr. Mrs Shine Agatha Ofori has been directed to hand over the administration of the school to the Regional Director of Education while the Regional Disciplinary Committee investigates the case.

The GES emphasized its firm stance against unauthorized levies in schools, cautioning that such acts are taken seriously and will be met with appropriate disciplinary actions.

This is not the first instance of GES taking action against school administrators for similar offences.

Earlier in 2023, the headmaster of Fijai Senior High School in Sekondi, Mr. Kenneth Agbomadzi, was interdicted for allegedly charging illegal fees.

However, he was reinstated in May 2023 after an investigative committee cleared him of any wrongdoing.
