Government terminates contracts of three contractors in Agenda 111 project

The government has announced the termination of contracts for three contractors involved in the construction of health facilities under the project.

The announcement was made by the Presidential Advisor on Health, Dr Nsiah Asare, during a press briefing in Trede, .

Dr Nsiah Asare emphasized the government's commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare facilities and stated that the termination of these contracts was necessary due to non-performance and failure to meet the required standards.

The government aims to uphold rigorous standards and hold contractors accountable for their performance.

While specific details about the terminated contracts and contractors were not disclosed, Dr Nsiah Asare highlighted that the government took decisive action to ensure the successful implementation of the projects.

Providing updates on the project's progress, Dr Nsiah Asare revealed that 88 out of the intended 111 projects are currently underway and making significant strides.

Several facilities, including a district hospital and polyclinics in the , are nearing completion, with the expansion and equipping of selected facilities expected to be completed by the end of this year.

The hospitals being constructed under the Agenda 111 project will offer a range of facilities, including state-of-the-art surgical theatres, wards, and accommodations for healthcare personnel.

Dr Nsiah Asare reaffirmed the government's commitment to this ambitious project, considering it the most significant investment in healthcare infrastructure since independence.
