The Minister of Education, Dr , has lauded the outstanding results of the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (), describing them as the best since the introduction of the Free Senior High School policy and the best since 2015.

Speaking on Newsfile, Dr Adutwum attributed this success to the dedication of who provided additional support and guidance to students.

The Minister acknowledged the sacrifice of who went above and beyond, staying after school and dedicating their time to supporting students.

He emphasized that the improved performance in each subject reflects the high quality of education delivered in schools.

Examining specific subject results, Dr Adutwum highlighted significant progress, citing integrated science as an example.

He noted that the pass rate for integrated science increased from 28.7% in 2015 to 66.82%, emphasizing the intentional efforts made to enhance educational outcomes.

Acknowledging the collaborative efforts of the government, headmasters, and teachers, the Minister emphasized the commitment to providing resources and support for the continuous improvement of education.

He underscored the importance of targeted interventions, especially for students struggling with specific subjects, and highlighted the success of such interventions in boosting students' proficiency.

Dr Adutwum also highlighted the role of schools like Wesley Girls in implementing effective assessment and intervention strategies to address students' needs and enhance overall academic performance.
