Ghana Photojournalists Network launches Ghana Through the Lens project

The Ghana Photojournalists Network (GPNeT) has initiated its flagship monthly project, “Ghana Through the Lens,” commencing in March this year. This project aims to capture the essence of Ghana's development through the medium of photography, encompassing both still and video formats.

The primary objective of “Ghana Through the Lens” is to visually inform, educate, and entertain the public about various facets of everyday life in Ghana. It seeks to highlight aspects such as cultural heritage, tourism, health, education, environment, industry, and economic development. By showcasing compelling images, the project aims to promote tourism, attract investment, and stimulate economic activity.

In a release signed by its President, Mr. David Andoh, the network expressed its intention to spark meaningful conversations about challenges hindering Ghana's development, with the goal of inspiring positive change in attitudes and behaviors.

With a team of seasoned members located nationwide, the Network is poised to offer diverse perspectives and insights into Ghanaian life. The project aims to ignite passion and foster creativity among participants while addressing critical issues affecting the country's progress.

Each month, “Ghana Through the Lens” will focus on a specific sub-theme, with the inaugural edition in March centering on “: Causes, Effects, and Interventions.” This thematic approach aims to delve deeper into pressing issues and raise awareness about important topics.

Furthermore, the network plans to organize photo exhibitions, host photography awards, and produce photo books annually to showcase the highlights of the project. These initiatives will serve as platforms for celebrating Ghana's development and addressing key issues through the power of visual storytelling.

In summary, “Ghana Through the Lens” represents a significant step towards celebrating Ghana's development journey and leveraging visual media to engage the public on important socio-economic and environmental issues.
