Ghana has expressed its condolences to the Namibian nation on the passing of President Hage Geingob. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo conveyed his sympathies and hoped that President Geingob would be remembered for his legacies.
Akufo-Addo praised Geingob's leadership characterized by wisdom and compassion, acknowledging him as a respected leader and dedicated servant of his people.
President Hage Geingob, Namibia's longest-serving Prime Minister and third President, passed away at the age of 82. He was first elected President in 2014 and was serving his second term. Geingob revealed in January that he was receiving treatment for cancer.
Akufo-Addo expressed solidarity with the Namibian people during this challenging time and hoped that the spirit of unity and resilience that defined Geingob's leadership would guide Namibia through the difficult period. Additionally, Akufo-Addo expressed optimism that Namibia's successor would continue the excellent relations established with Ghana.
