Ghanaian forward Antoine Selorm Semenyo remains optimistic about the Black Stars' chances of reaching the Round of 16 in the ongoing competition, despite settling for a point against Egypt.
The Ghana team faced disappointment due to costly mistakes that prevented them from securing a win despite a standout performance by Mohammed Kudus.
Semenyo, speaking to the media after the match, acknowledged the team's overall strong performance against Egypt but pointed out that individual errors were the stumbling block.
He expressed confidence in the team's ability to advance, saying, “I am 100 percent sure we will make it to the Round of 16.”
The Bournemouth striker praised teammate Mohammed Kudus, emphasizing his impact on the squad. “He is our star boy, and when he gets on the ball, he creates stuff and scores goals.
It was great to have him in the squad because he is a great addition,” Semenyo remarked.
The Black Stars are set to face Mozambique on Monday, January 22, 2024, at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium to secure a spot in the Round of 16.
