Hajia Nasira Afrah, Member of Parliament for Sekyere Afram Plains, has extended support to first-year Senior High School students in her constituency through her Obaatanpa Edu-Care Initiative, aimed at easing the financial burden on parents and promoting equitable access to education.
Under the initiative, the MP distributed mattresses, chop boxes, bedsheets, exercise books, sanitary pads for girls, and cash donations to assist students as they begin their secondary education. The gesture, she said, reflects her commitment to ensuring that every child in Sekyere Afram Plains has a fair opportunity to access quality education regardless of their financial background.

“It is heartwarming to see the excitement and gratitude on the faces of the students, parents, and community members,” Hajia Afrah remarked during the presentation ceremony. “Education remains the most powerful tool for transforming lives, and we will continue to serve our people with passion and dedication through initiatives that make a lasting impact.”
The event, which drew traditional leaders, parents, opinion leaders, and community members, was marked by commendations for the MP’s continuous investment in education within the constituency.
Launched in 2024, the Obaatanpa Edu-Care Initiative seeks to support brilliant but needy students by providing essential learning materials to help them begin their academic journey smoothly. Hajia Afrah reaffirmed her resolve to sustain and expand the programme to reach more beneficiaries in the coming years, stressing that empowering the youth through education is the surest path to building a prosperous future for Sekyere Afram Plains.
