The Ghana Education Service (GES) has expressed its deepest condolences to the family of the late Stacy Okyere, a first-year student of Aburi Girls' Senior High School, who passed away on February 4, 2024, after a brief illness. In a press release, GES Director-General Dr Eric Nkansah led a delegation to visit the school and the family to offer condolences and support.
The delegation also inspected the school's infirmary and engaged with the nursing staff. Additionally, GES has deployed a team of nine counsellors to augment the school's Guidance and Counseling Department, providing psychosocial support to students and staff affected by the loss.
GES further stated that internal investigations are ongoing, and they are collaborating with law enforcement agencies to independently probe the matter. The service emphasized its commitment to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all students.
