Officers’ Mess Road to be closed on March 3 – KMA issues traffic advisory

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has announced a temporary closure of the main Officers’ Mess Road in Kumasi on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

In a statement issued on March 2, the Assembly said the road will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Motorists and road users have therefore been advised to take note and use alternative routes during the period.

According to the advisory, drivers travelling from Santasi Roundabout towards Adum through Danyame can divert immediately after New Orleans Hotel towards the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) and continue to Lancaster Hotel.

From there, they may either turn left towards the ECG road linking to Adum or turn right towards Ridge Police Station through the KMA route.

Other alternative routes include turning beyond Miklin Hotel towards Veronique Heights to reconnect to the RCC road, or using the stretch after Danyame Primary School through Sunset Hotel to link to Ridge School and onward to Bekwai Roundabout or the ECG road to Adum.

Motorists coming from Adum towards Santasi have also been advised to use the RCC route via Lancaster Hotel and Miklin Hotel, or divert through Ridge School and connect back to Santasi Roundabout.

The traffic measures are expected to facilitate activities in the area, including arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Andrew Amankwah.

Funeral attendees from Santasi are to stop at the entrance of Villandro Military Guest House at Neem Avenue and walk to the grounds, while those coming from Adum are to follow police directions to designated parking areas.

VVIP guests are required to report first to the RCC, where they will be directed through Royal Palm Avenue to a designated car park.

The Assembly has urged the public to cooperate with traffic officers and comply with the temporary arrangements to ensure smooth movement and safety throughout the day.
