Director General of Joint Operations of the Ghana Armed Forces, Forster Okae-Yeboah, commended private sector partners for providing logistics, equipment and technical support for the exercise.
The clean-up operation is backed by a GH¢350 million government allocation for emergency relief, reconstruction and long-term flood mitigation.
Authorities have warned that enforcement measures, including the removal of structures obstructing waterways, will be carried out as part of efforts to reduce future flood risks.
The Ghana Armed Forces urged residents to cooperate with personnel on the ground, avoid active clean-up areas, dispose of waste properly and support efforts to restore affected communities.
