He confirmed that the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, had been duly informed of the passing of the wife of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings.

“The family has informed His Excellency the President, who, in turn, caused a statement to be issued confirming Nana Konadu’s death. At this stage, we are in deep mourning and respectfully ask for privacy. All further announcements will be made by the government,” Mr Prempeh stated.

Mrs Rawlings, 76, passed away on Thursday morning after a short illness, leaving behind a legacy of advocacy for women’s empowerment and social transformation.
