The milestone cements Otto Addo’s legacy as the first coach to guide Ghana to back-to-back World Cup appearances, having also steered the team’s return to the global stage at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar following their absence from the 2018 edition in Russia.
This latest qualification marks Ghana’s fifth appearance at football’s most prestigious tournament. Among African nations, only Cameroon (8), Morocco (7), Tunisia (7), and Nigeria (6) have made more appearances on the world stage.
With Otto Addo at the helm, the Black Stars will now shift focus to preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico — a tournament expected to showcase the next generation of Ghanaian football talent on the global stage.
