According to the Ghana Health Service, Mpox spreads mainly through close physical contact with an infected person. The Service has therefore advised the public to maintain good personal hygiene and remain alert to symptoms such as fever, rash, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, chills and tiredness.
The Service emphasised that early detection and prompt medical attention are key to preventing further spread of the disease and ensuring effective management.
Members of the public who experience any of the listed symptoms have been urged to visit the nearest health facility immediately for assessment and care, as timely reporting will help protect communities and contain the infection.
