Speaking during a site meeting ahead of the commencement of construction, Biomedical Engineer at the Ministry of Health, Mrs Ruth Appiah, said the project forms part of government efforts to strengthen dialysis care and expand access to renal services nationwide.
She stated that the proposed facility would be fully equipped to provide comprehensive dialysis services in a safe and patient-friendly environment.
According to her, the centre will include a mini laboratory, consulting rooms, wards, waiting areas, a water treatment system, a standby generator and other support facilities required for dialysis care.
Chief Executive Officer of Ho Teaching Hospital, Hintermann K. K. Mbroh, described the project as timely and impactful.
He said the hospital continues to experience increasing demand for dialysis services and noted that the new facility would improve its capacity to provide specialised renal care to patients in the catchment area and neighbouring regions.
Dr Mbroh also assured stakeholders of management’s support for the successful execution of the project.
