GACL's new Managing Director pledges commitment to company success

Mrs Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, the recently appointed Managing Director of (GACL), has affirmed her dedication to fostering and enhancing relationships with stakeholders to ensure the success of the company's management and operations.

The commitment was made during a durbar in where the Board introduced Mrs Opare to the staff.

She expressed her intent to build upon the solid foundation laid by her predecessors, addressing areas that require improvement, and setting new achievable goals.

Emphasizing the importance of collaboration, Mrs Opare highlighted that leveraging individual strengths, experiences, and expertise would propel the company to greater heights.

She stressed the strategic significance of Ghana's location, urging the optimization of international passenger and cargo traffic, as well as increased throughput to domestic airports.

Mrs Opare urged the staff to remain focused, and diligent, and uphold the values and statutes of the company. Excited about the opportunities ahead, she emphasized the need for teamwork, mutual respect, passion, and a spirit of excellence to achieve greater success.

Mr Paul Adom-Otchere, the Board Chairman of GACL, commended the staff for their unwavering support and expressed hope that the same level of support would be accorded to the new Managing Director.

Mrs Opare, an accomplished business executive with nearly 20 years of experience, holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Operations Management from the American Intercontinental University in Illinois, USA.

She also earned a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and received her secondary education at in Ghana.

Her corporate journey began in the , where she engaged with Fortune 500 companies such as Hewlett-Packard Enterprise and Eli Lilly.

Mrs Opare later returned to Ghana, driven by a desire to contribute to national development.

Over two decades, Mrs Opare has honed skills in corporate leadership, business development, and management, including strategy development, resource harmonization, human resource management, project management, operations management, financial management, and brand-building.

Her leadership competencies extend into strategic stakeholder management, corporate governance, diplomacy, gender inclusivity, social inclusion, and sustainability.

She has built a track record of sustaining international business relationships with high-profile multinational organizations.

Mrs Opare has demonstrated business development prowess by successfully facilitating multi-million- business-to-business transactions and brokering public-private partnership deals for high-impact projects in Ghana.

With a background in and corporate business, Mrs Opare is experienced in global procurements and has built an extensive global network of trading partnerships.

As a wife and mother of three daughters, she possesses the qualities, expertise, and leadership competencies required for excellence in impact-driven organizations.
