Five Ministers of State are set to appear before Parliament for question time next week, announced Mr Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the Majority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri.
The scheduled ministers include Dr Kwaku Afriyie (Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation), Mr Bryan Acheampong (Minister of Food and Agriculture), Mr Kwaku Ofori Asiamah (Minister of Transport), Mr Joseph Cudjoe (Minister of Public Enterprises), and Mr Kwasi Amoako-Attah (Minister of Roads and Highways).
During the upcoming session, these ministers are expected to address a total of 42 questions, encompassing both urgent questions and orals.
Mr. Annoh-Dompreh highlighted that the First Week of the First Meeting of the Fourth Session of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana witnessed the admission of 631 questions. With members returning from the Christmas recess, new questions reflecting constituents' concerns have been filed.
The Business Committee urged ministers to prioritize attendance and responsiveness to parliamentary inquiries. Additionally, committees with pending referrals were encouraged to expedite their work and present reports for consideration.
However, the sitting of the House had to be adjourned to Tuesday, February 13, as per the request of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Minority Caucus, to facilitate a caucus meeting.
