The Electoral Commission of Ghana has issued a clarification regarding reports in the media about the creation of new constituencies ahead of the 2024 General Elections.
The Commission has refuted these claims and stated that only one new constituency, the Guan Constituency in the Oti Region, is currently being created.

In a statement dated October 31, 2023, Michael Boadu, Acting Head of Public Affairs for the Electoral Commission, emphasised that no decisions have been made to create additional constituencies beyond the Guan Constituency.
The Electoral Commission urged the general public to disregard the reports circulating in the media regarding the creation of multiple new constituencies.
