The Commission has refuted these claims and stated that only one new constituency, the Guan Constituency in the Oti Region, is currently being created. In a statement dated October 31, 2023, Michael Boadu, Acting Head of Public Affairs for the Electoral Commission, emphasised that no decisions have been made to create additional constituencies beyond the Guan Constituency. The Electoral Commission urged the general public to disregard the reports circulating in the media regarding the creation of multiple new constituencies. This clarification aims to provide accurate information and dispel any misconceptions about the constituency creation process.
