Togbi Akwaah III, the Chief of Alakple and spokesperson for the Loafe Clan in Anlo, has urged fellow chiefs in the community to prioritize the development of Alakple over chieftaincy titles. He emphasized the importance of traditional leaders playing a pivotal role in ensuring the welfare and development of their subjects, echoing the practices of their forebears.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Togbi Akwaah highlighted pressing development needs in the community, including the establishment of educational institutions, improvement of road infrastructure, renovation of healthcare facilities, and the promotion of agriculture and fish farming to empower the youth economically.
He stressed the significance of unity among the leadership and residents to drive Alakple's development agenda forward, calling on the youth to actively participate in community-building efforts.
The press conference organized by the kingmakers of the Togbi Akwaah Royal Stool of Alakple sought to address historical claims regarding the establishment of the settlement and chieftaincy titles. It aimed to clarify misconceptions and reaffirm the legitimacy of Togbi Akwaah's leadership.
