Chief of Agyiemadiem initiates temporary road reshaping to address deplorable state

Juaboso District, Region — Nana Kofi Donkor II, the Chief of Agyiemadiem in the Juaboso District of the Region, has taken the initiative to temporarily reshape the deplorable Essakrom to Agyiemadiem road, aiming to make it more accessible for residents.

The road, linking communities such as Dome, Afofiekrom, Maame Dora, Damoafuo, Sayereso, and Agyiemadiem, had deteriorated significantly, causing difficulties in commuting within the area.

Nana Donkor II, in an with the (GNA), highlighted the severe challenges faced by residents, particularly farmers unable to transport their produce to nearby markets.

The road's condition had also led drivers to avoid the route, fearing damage to their vehicles.

Expressing concern for the well-being of the community, Nana Donkor II mobilized resources to initiate the temporary reshaping of the road, emphasizing that the poor road conditions had already resulted in a tragic incident where a pregnant woman lost her life due to a lack of readily available transportation to a nearby hospital.

The chief called on the government, specifically the Juaboso District Assembly, to expedite actions for a permanent fix to the road, providing relief to the residents who regularly face challenges on the route.

Nana Donkor II has informed the District Chief Executive for Juaboso and the Member of for the area about the road's dire state, expressing hope for collaborative efforts to address the issue.

While residents lauded the chief's initiative, they urged the government to ensure that contractors working on the road return to the site promptly to complete the project. As of the GNA's visit, reshaping works had been completed from Dome, Sayereso, and Agyiemadiem, with ongoing efforts between Essakrom and Afofiekrom.
