Dr. Ofosu Kwabi Nasas, the District Director of Health Services, highlighted these challenges during the 2023 annual health performance review meeting held in Adubia.
Dr. Nasas underscored the reluctance of health workers to accept postings in the district due to these pressing issues. He emphasized the need for immediate action to address these challenges and improve healthcare provision in the area.
The district faces particular health concerns, including Buruli ulcer and other diseases exacerbated by illegal mining activities prevalent in the region. Dr. Nasas stressed the importance of providing essential equipment, logistics, and consumables to support patient care effectively.
