Central Region - Man arrested for allegedly beheading wife at Dunkwa-on-Offin

The police at Dunkwa-on-Offin in the Upper Denkyira East District of the arrested a man on Friday for allegedly beheading his wife in a suburb of Dunkwa-on-Offin called Atachem.

According to reports, the man and his wife had a brief misunderstanding that led to the tragic incident. The couple, both believed to be in their twenties, hailed from Wassa-Saa in the and had been residing together.

The deceased had left home a few days prior in search of a job at a mining company in Dunkwa-on-Offin. The husband followed her on Friday to convince her to return home.

However, the man reportedly lured his wife to Dunkwa-Atachem near the Subin River, where he allegedly committed the heinous act. He attempted to leave the scene but was stopped by scrap dealers who noticed bloodstains on him.

The suspect claimed he was stabbed by someone attempting to rob him, but the scrap dealers were unconvinced and promptly handed him over to the police. Subsequent investigations revealed his involvement in the .

The decapitated body of the woman has been taken to the Dunkwa Government Hospital. Further details regarding the motive behind the crime have yet to be disclosed.
