The Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment, Hon. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, has emphasised the need to align the Ministry’s budgetary priorities with the government’s broader agenda of creating sustainable and decent job opportunities for Ghanaians.
He made the remarks on September 3, 2026, while chairing a meeting of the Ministry’s Budget Committee.

Hon. Agyekum said the Ministry’s budget must go beyond financial projections and serve as a strategic instrument for job creation, skills development and economic empowerment.
He called for greater prioritisation of programmes that support jobseekers, enhance employability, promote skills acquisition and facilitate stronger links between employers and the workforce.
