The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has commended Focus Electronic Company Limited for its contribution to job creation, workers’ welfare and the production of quality Made-in-Ghana products.
The Minister made the commendation during a visit to the company on Monday, 10th August 2026, to inspect its operations and engage with management and workers.

Hon. Ofosu-Adjare expressed satisfaction with the working environment at the company, particularly the conditions provided for its predominantly female workforce. She noted that the factory was clean, airy and conducive for work, with a hostel and lunch provided for workers. She also commended management for ensuring that workers do not bear the cost of electricity and water bills.
“I like it when I go to industry and I see that women are sitting down and working because then immediately it comes to my mind that you can be pregnant and still work here,” the Minister stated, emphasising the importance of creating workplaces where women can work comfortably and with dignity.
The Minister further commended Focus Electronic Company Limited for employing more than 500 people and urged the company to expand its operations to create additional employment opportunities.
According to her, the company has been operating for some time and has a good market, making expansion an important opportunity for further growth.
Hon. Ofosu-Adjare also stressed the importance of maintaining high standards in the production of Made-in-Ghana goods.
She highlighted the role of the Minister’s Clinic 2026, an initiative that provides a platform for industries to bring challenges affecting their operations directly to her attention. She explained that when industries raise concerns through the initiative, it is her responsibility to bring the relevant stakeholders together to find solutions.
A key issue addressed during the visit was an electricity supply challenge affecting the company. The Minister commended the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) for its prompt response after the Ministry called for its intervention.
She noted that ECG had engaged with Focus Electronic Company Limited to resolve the matter, resulting in its immediate resolution.
“I want to thank ECG for the prompt response to our call for them to be here. From what I have gathered in respect of electricity, they are working closely with the factory and that is the way to go,” she said.
Hon. Ofosu-Adjare said the swift resolution demonstrated the importance of collaboration between government institutions and the private sector in addressing operational challenges affecting local industries.
She commended the owner and management of Focus Electronic Company Limited and urged them to make expansion the next step, noting the significant opportunities available in the market.
The Minister assured the company of the Ministry’s continued support as it provides an enabling environment for its workers, contributes to employment creation and supports Ghana’s industrial development.
She reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to working with relevant stakeholders to identify and resolve challenges confronting local industries and create the conditions necessary for sustainable growth in Ghana’s manufacturing sector.
The Managing Director of Focus Electronic Technology Company Limited, Mr Andy, expressed appreciation for the Minister’s visit.
“We are so happy and honoured to receive our Hon. Minister. We are very happy that we can meet her in our factory and see what we are doing,” he said.
He further thanked the Ministry and other key stakeholders for their support and said the company would continue to contribute to Ghana’s industrial development.
