The Coca-Cola West Africa, Morocco, and Algeria (WAMA) region has announced a significant new investment drive in Ghana following a meeting with the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, in Accra.
The announcement is expected to be officially unveiled at a major conference scheduled for 6 to 8 May 2026 in Accra, which will bring together regional and global Coca-Cola leaders.

During the meeting on Thursday, 16 April 2026, the Communications Director of WAMA Coca-Cola, Mr David Appiah, expressed strong confidence in Ghana’s business environment and highlighted the company’s long-term commitment to the country.
He also emphasised the importance of the Ministry of Trade in Ghana’s investment strategy and called for a coordinated approach involving key sectors such as finance, health, and environment to support a smooth investment framework.
Mr Appiah noted that Coca-Cola’s operations contributed GHS 1.28 billion to the Ghanaian economy in 2024 and created thousands of jobs. He said the new investment reinforces the company’s commitment to expanding its presence and supporting Ghana’s economic development.
In response, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare welcomed the expansion plans and reaffirmed that Ghana’s stable economy and strategic location make it an ideal investment destination in Africa. She stated that “If you are investing in Africa, Ghana can be your base.”
Meanwhile, a delegation from the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) also called on the Minister to announce the date for the 2nd ICC African Sustainable Supply Chain Summit, scheduled for 12 to 13 October 2026 in Tema.
ICC Secretary-General Mr Emmanuel Dhoni-Kwame said the summit will focus on strengthening Africa’s sustainable supply chains and economic resilience.
Hon. Ofosu-Adjare expressed full support for the initiative and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to working with ICC to advance sustainable trade facilitation and investment across Africa.
