The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), North East Regional Office, has commenced the rollout of the NHIS Electronic Health Facility Management System (NeHFAMS) in all credentialed health facilities across the North East Region.
The NeHFAMS solution introduces the One-Time Attendance Code (OTAC) and One-Time PIN (OTP) features to authenticate insured members when accessing healthcare services.

The Acting Regional Director of the NHIA, Mr. Salifu Abraham, highlighted the importance of OTAC in strengthening claims management, reducing financial leakages and improving efficiency within the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
He called for strong collaboration between the NHIA and health providers to ensure effective implementation and maximise the benefits to NHIS members.
The Acting Regional Director of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Joyce Annin, urged health facility in-charges to take the initiative seriously.
The Regional Minister also welcomed OTAC as a system that could help eliminate illegal payments and minimise claims deductions.
The Director of Management Information Systems (MIS), Mr. Joe Annor Darkwah, and his team led participants through the OTAC generation process and a practical demonstration.
The rollout marks another step towards improving efficiency, accountability and access to quality healthcare under the Free Primary Health Care Programme.
