BoG delegation offers condolences to former President Kufuor on the passing of former First Lady: Ghana News

The Governor of the , Dr. , along with his Deputies, has expressed their condolences to former President on the passing of his wife, the former First Lady, Theresa Aba Kufuor.

The delegation, led by Governor Dr. , included Dr. Maxwell Opoku-Afari, First Deputy Governor, Mrs. Elsie Addo Awadzi, the Second Deputy Governor, and Ms. Sandra Thompson, the Bank's Secretary.

During their visit, the delegation signed the Book of Condolence and presented customary drinks, assorted soft drinks, and bottles of water to the grieving family.

Governor Addison praised Mrs. Kufuor for her significant contributions to the development of Ghana during her tenure as First Lady.

He conveyed the sincere condolences of the and his own personal condolences to the Kufuor family, expressing the hope that the former First Lady would rest in perfect peace.

Former First Lady Theresa Aba Kufuor passed away at her Peduase Residence on Sunday evening, October 1, 2023, at the age of 87.

She was a nurse and midwife and served as the First Lady from January 1, 2001, to December 31, 2008, during her husband's presidency.

In honor of her memory, the government of Ghana directed that all flags be flown at half-mast for a week, and a book of condolence was opened at the residence of former President Kufuor.
