The Black Stars, Ghana's national football team, are set to kick off their preparations for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Cote d'Ivoire 2023 with a training camp in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The team will assemble on Sunday, December 31, 2023, and spend approximately ten days gearing up for the prestigious tournament scheduled to take place in Cote D'Ivoire from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
In their final phase of preparation, Ghana will engage in a friendly match against Botswana in Johannesburg on Monday, January 8, 2024, before making their way to Abidjan two days later for the official start of the competition.
While the anticipation builds for the Black Stars' performance in the AFCON 2023, the Technical team has emphasized that the training sessions during the South African camp will not be open to the public or the media, maintaining a focus on the team's concentration and strategy.
The Black Stars find themselves in Group B, facing formidable opponents including football giants Egypt, Cape Verde, and Mozambique.
Ghana's journey in the tournament will commence with a match against Cape Verde on Sunday, January 14.
Subsequently, the team will take on record holders Egypt on Thursday, January 18, followed by a clash with Mozambique in the final Group B game on Monday, January 22, 2024.
