On Sunday, claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Real United (RTU) at the , marking a return to winning ways for the Porcupine Warriors.

The match, part of the gruelling week 16 encounters, saw RTU putting up a spirited performance despite their 17th position on the league table.

RTU's determined effort and high pressing by forwards Mohammed Mankuyeli and Baba Kushibo made it challenging for Kotoko to assert control in the opening minutes. Kotoko's initial possession advantage was thwarted by RTU's resilience.

Kotoko started finding their rhythm after an early attempt on goal that resulted in a corner kick. As the first half progressed, Kotoko increased the pressure on RTU, but the visitors wasted a chance to take the lead when a cross from Mohammed Hardi found no takers.

Richmond Lamptey missed another opportunity to break the deadlock just before halftime, leading to a goalless first half. The second half saw both teams intensifying their efforts, with Kotoko displaying more offensive prowess.

Kotoko's breakthrough came in the 79th minute when Steve Desse Mukwala converted a penalty after Baba Yahaya was fouled in the box.

Despite RTU's resilience, Kotoko held on to the slim lead, securing their seventh victory and moving to the sixth spot on the league table. The win ends Kotoko's brief winless streak, providing a boost for the team in the ongoing league competition.
