Ghanaian journalist and entrepreneur Afua Asantewaa Aduonum is on the verge of creating history as she approaches the milestone of breaking the longest individual singing marathon record, currently held by India's Sunil Waghmare at 105 hours.
Having commenced her singing marathon at midnight on December 24, 2023, Afua Asantewaa has already surpassed 90 hours of continuous singing.
The determined artist is anticipated to achieve this historic feat on Thursday, December 28, with the possibility of extending into Friday.
Expressing confidence in his daughter's ability to complete the challenging task, Mr. Thomas Ofosu, Asantewaa's father, shared, “I know my girl will make Ghana proud by completing the task.
She assured me she was going to do it, and I believe she will do it. I want to thank all Ghanaians who came here to Akwaaba Village to render their unflinching support to my daughter.”
Throughout her impressive journey, a multitude of A-list musicians, celebrities, sporting personalities, and prominent politicians have visited Akwaaba Village to show their support for the young singing sensation.
Notable figures include Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Kuami Eugene, Sista Afia, Nana Ama McBrown, Mr. Drew, Akrobeto, Celestine Donkor, Obaapa Christy, Akuapem Polo, Asamoah Gyan, among many others.
Distinguished dignitaries in attendance also feature Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, Chief of Staff Madam Frema Osei-Opare, and Accra Mayor Madam Elizabeth Tawiah Sackey.
