Xystus Esiawonam Gedzah, of Omni Group's supply chain management department, graduated from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration () Business School with an MBA in Supply Chain Management on Saturday, July 29, 2023. His academic prowess and dedication to his studies earned him the prestigious award of Overall Best Student of the Business School, with an impressive Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 3.85.

Currently serving as the Sourcing and Procurement Lead at Omni Energy Limited, Xystus plays a vital role in driving the supply chain department of the commercial team at Omni. His career has been marked by a wealth of experience, including working with Schlumberger, a -leading upstream oil and gas company, before joining Omni Group.

Xystus's passion for supply chain management and accounting led him to pursue his MBA at GIMPA. He aims to combine these skills to address complex supply chain challenges effectively. His project on “Material Handling Management and Challenges among the Upstream Oil and Gas Sector of Ghana” explores the optimal handling and management of chemicals, tools, and equipment in the disruptive industry of upstream oil and gas.

Throughout his academic journey, Xystus admits that he faced the challenge of balancing school, work, and ministry responsibilities, yet he excelled in both academics and extracurricular activities. He also reveals his sporting talents in soccer and table tennis, stating, “I play soccer so well. It was my initial career path, but my parents wanted me to focus on my studies, and I'm glad they guided me in this path.”

A proud alumnus of Bishop Herman College, Xystus demonstrated exemplary leadership qualities. He serves as the President of Bishop Herman Old Boys Union (2014 Batch) and was the President of Bishop Herman Old Boys Union (BHOBU) – Chapter in 2018. He also held the position of Prayer Secretary for Pax Romana – Local.

Commenting on his aspirations, Xystus shared his commitment to diving deeper into supply chain management, recognizing it as a pressing challenge in Ghana compared to agriculture. His comprehensive understanding of the industry, coupled with his academic achievements, positions him as a valuable asset in addressing Ghana's supply chain complexities.

A look at Xystus's CV reveals a driven and motivated individual, equipped with valuable skills such as commercial awareness, effective communication, multitasking, and complex problem-solving. Doubtless, these competencies have been instrumental in his career growth, contributing to the success of various projects and achieving significant milestones.

Xystus's remarkable achievements have earned him several awards and accolades. He was recognized as the Best Graduating Entrepreneurial Student in 2018 at the University of Professional Studies, . Additionally, he received the Best National Service Personnel award during his tenure at Schlumberger.
