Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, President of the Association (GRNMA), has disclosed a concerning trend of approximately 6,000 nurses leaving Ghana since August 2023 in search of better opportunities abroad.

Speaking on 's Hot Issues program on Sunday, March 31, Mrs. Ofori-Ampofo highlighted the urgent need for improved service conditions for healthcare professionals to ensure they fulfil their duties effectively, regardless of their location.

She emphasized that addressing the brain drain in the healthcare sector requires more than just the provision of drones. Mrs. Ofori-Ampofo underscored the need for comprehensive enhancements in the health sector, including ensuring the availability of necessary equipment, medications, and proper storage systems.

Mrs. Ofori-Ampofo called for significant improvements in rural healthcare infrastructure and resources to encourage healthcare professionals to stay and serve in those areas. She stressed that simply deploying drones to deliver medical supplies is insufficient without addressing fundamental issues within the healthcare system.
