Ivory Coast edge Ecuador 1–0 with late winner in FIFA World Cup 2026 Group E clash

The match between and ended 1–0 in favour of Ivory Coast in a Group E encounter.

The winning goal came in the 90th minute, securing all three points for Ivory Coast in a tightly contested match.

Ivory Coast registered 16 shots with 4 on target, while Ecuador had 10 shots and 1 on target.

Ecuador slightly edged possession with 51% compared to Ivory Coast’s 49%, and also completed more passes (503 to 441) with a marginally higher pass accuracy of 87% against 85%.

In terms of discipline, Ivory Coast picked up 3 yellow cards, while Ecuador received 1.

Ecuador also recorded more corners (5) compared to Ivory Coast’s 3, but struggled to convert possession into clear scoring opportunities.
