Madam Bonifacia Benefo Agyei, Director of Safecare – PharmAccess Ghana, has emphasized the need for innovative interventions in the fight against non-communicable diseases (NCDs) during her solidarity message at the Sixth National High-Level Meeting on NCDs in .

Madam Agyei acknowledged that tackling NCDs requires a relentless and open-minded approach, utilizing groundbreaking inventions and innovations to redefine possibilities and transform the lives of millions affected by these diseases.

She stressed the importance of encouraging individuals to make smart choices for their health, highlighting that many NCDs and conditions are preventable through positive lifestyles such as exercise, healthy eating, limited alcohol consumption, and quitting smoking.

The Sixth National High-Level Meeting on NCDs, organized by the Ghana NCD Alliance, centered around the theme “Building a Coordinated Front to Bridge the NCD and Response Gaps to Achieve Universal Health Coverage in Ghana.”

Referring to data from the Health Organization, Madam Bonifacia Agyei highlighted the global impact of NCDs, emphasizing that 28 lives between the ages of 30 and 70 are lost every minute due to the lack of policy, legislative, and regulatory measures.

She noted that a significant proportion of these lives lost occur in low- and middle-income countries, including Ghana, due to lower levels of protection from the risks and consequences of NCDs.

Madam Bonifacia Agyei underscored PharmAccess's commitment to delivering healthcare solutions that connect patients and professionals.

Through effective partnerships, the organization aims to drive innovations, quality, investment, and efficiencies in healthcare across Africa, ensuring that no one is left behind.

Expressing solidarity with the event's theme, Madam Bonifacia Agyei emphasized the need for extensive, evidence-based solutions to address the NCD crisis. She called for collective efforts backed by resilience and consistency to bring impactful changes to healthcare systems in African economies.

In her concluding remarks, Madam Bonifacia Agyei emphasized that leveraging innovation in the battle against NCDs is not only about finding new solutions but also about designing interventions that will genuinely transform the lives of millions affected by these diseases.
