Ghanaian football icons Abedi Pele and Alberta Sackey are set to be special guests at the upcoming CAF Awards 2023, scheduled for Monday, December 11, in Marrakech, Morocco. The prestigious ceremony recognizes and honors exceptional performances by African players, coaches, teams, and clubs.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced an illustrious lineup of guests who will join the nominees in celebrating the excellence and remarkable achievements of African football.
Among the distinguished guests is Abedi Pele, a three-time African Footballer of the Year, known as the maestro of the game. Former CAF's Women's Footballer of the Year, Alberta Sackey, will also be in attendance.
Other notable guests include Samuel Eto'o from Cameroon, El Hadji Diouf from Senegal, Emmanuel Adebayor from Togo, Jay-Jay Okocha from Nigeria, Anthony Baffoe from Ghana, and more.
The Men's Player of the Year category will see contenders like Egypt's Mohammed Salah, Morocco's Achraf Hakim, and Nigeria's Victor Osimhen. In the women's category, nominees for the Player of the Year award include Asisat Oshoala from Nigeria, Thembi Kgatlana from South Africa, and Barbara Banda from Zambia.
