The government said the welfare and safety of Ghanaian nationals abroad remains a top priority under President John Dramani Mahama, describing the exercise as part of efforts to protect citizens in emergency or high-risk situations abroad.
The Ghana High Commission in Pretoria will coordinate further arrangements and serve as the main contact point for affected citizens seeking assistance or information.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed citizens to its official website for updates and guidance. The evacuation is part of ongoing consular efforts to ensure the safe return of Ghanaians abroad, with additional batches expected depending on operational arrangements and demand.
