The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has held discussions with envoys from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries on regional and global developments.
The meeting took place on Monday, April 13, 2026, and included the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Dakhel; the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, Dr Abdulla Murad Suliaman Mohammed Al-Mandoos; the Ambassador of the State of Qatar, Khalid Bin Jabor Saif Jasser Al-Mesallam; and the Chargé d’Affaires of the State of Kuwait, Husain Alebrahim.

During the engagement, Hon. Ablakwa reaffirmed Ghana’s foreign policy position, emphasising respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as adherence to a rules-based international order.
The GCC envoys acknowledged ongoing cooperation with Ghana at both bilateral and multilateral levels and stressed the importance of maintaining peace. They also highlighted developments in the Middle East, noting the humanitarian challenges arising from ongoing conflicts, and called for peaceful resolution through dialogue.
