Officials from the Hajj Taskforce and religious leaders were present at the departure point to supervise preparations and offer guidance before the journey.

The pilgrims are expected to perform Islamic rites in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina as part of the annual pilgrimage.

Authorities advised the pilgrims to remain disciplined, obey the laws of Saudi Arabia and represent Ghana positively throughout the pilgrimage period.

The Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and is observed annually by millions of Muslims worldwide. More batches of Ghanaian pilgrims are expected to depart in the coming days.
