In celebration of National Farmers Day, Mr. Amidu Chinnia Issahaku, Member of for Sissala East Constituency, has honored key contributors to agriculture in the region.

The awards ceremony acknowledged the pivotal role played by individuals and communities within the agriculture value chain in making an appealing and prosperous venture.

Mr. Chinnia presented “Special Awards” to 12 outstanding recipients for their noteworthy investments and services in .

Notable among the awardees was Mr. Samuel Akuetteh, an Extension Agent of the Department of Agriculture, who received a brand-new Apsonic Motorcycle and a certificate for his dedicated work in providing agricultural solutions to farmers.

The accolades extended beyond individuals to well-behaved nomadic , with Diallo Saeed from Kulfuo receiving recognition.

Duu East was lauded as the Best Commercial Agricultural Community, while Sule Chiemina from Tumu earned the title of Best Agro Processor. Alhaji Mohammed Daab was honored as the Best Input Dealer, and Gariba Batong Iddrisu received the award for Best Aggregator.

Yakubu Sumayalia from Welembelle was acknowledged as the Best Tractor Service Provider, while Gbemmie Musah earned the title of Best Nucleus Farmer. ASUDEV was recognized as the Best Local Non-Governmental Organization.

The Welembelle community was applauded for excelling in dry season farming, and Pieng Kuoro, Kuoro Humphrey Tordia, was crowned the Best Plantation Farmer. Awardees received certificates, plastic chairs, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs).

Mr. Chinnia commended the awardees for their contributions and urged them to build on their achievements. He praised the farmers of Sissala East for elevating the constituency's status in Ghana's food production landscape.

Acknowledging the importance of collaboration, Mr. Chinnia commended traditional authorities for releasing lands for farming without conflicts and advised farmers to repay extended inputs.

Partner institutions, including 2Scale and Kedan Limited, also recognized outstanding contributors. Mr. Nankene Danlardi from Dolunbizon was awarded the Best Male Youth Farmer, while Kusiew Rukaya from Bugubelle received the title of Best Female Youth Farmer. Both recipients were presented with PPEs, a knapsack sprayer, and a tarpaulin.

The Best Female Woman Farmer accolade went to Mujeed Mariam from Jijen, who received PPEs and a roller planter.

At the farmers' durbar in Pieng, 23 farmers cultivating various crops received assorted awards, while 46 exhibitors of grains, tubers, and foodstuff were honored with Wellington boots, cutlasses, and soap. Nabong Seidu was crowned the overall Best Farmer for the Sissala East Municipality, receiving a motorcycle as the prestigious award.
