University of Education, Winneba celebrates 28th congregation ceremony: Ghana News

The University of Education, (), is witnessing a significant moment as 15,817 students participate in the 28th congregation ceremony held from January 22 to January 27, 2024, at .

The graduates include 14,858 students receiving first degrees, 227 awarded diplomas, and 732 obtaining postgraduate degrees.

Among the first-degree recipients, 961 achieved First Class, 4,545 secured Second Class Upper, 5,828 earned Second Class Lower, 2,932 obtained Third Class, and 592 received a pass.

The ceremony commenced with various faculties presenting graduates, including Business Education, Vocational Education, Technical Education, Applied Science and Mathematics, among others.

Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual, the Vice Chancellor of , congratulated the graduates, emphasizing the university's commitment to training competent professional .

He encouraged the graduates to view their graduation as the beginning of a lifelong learning journey, urging them to embrace the pursuit of knowledge, explore novel ideas, and adhere to ethical standards.

Prof. Mitchual highlighted the importance of integrity, stating, “Recognize your integrity as precious assets that will garner trust, respect, and success in your career.”

He advised the graduates to follow their passions and values, fostering inclusivity, understanding diverse viewpoints, and building meaningful relationships.

“As you leave the UEW, carry with you the knowledge, values, and spirit of excellence and remember that you are not just graduates, you are torchbearers of knowledge, advocates of change, and ambassadors of the institution's cherished values,” Prof. Mitchual concluded.
