Peace Council holds capacity building workshop for members in Northern Region

The 's office (NRPC) recently conducted a three-day capacity-building workshop.

The workshop focused on enhancing the understanding of electoral laws, management, and political party conduct among its members with the aim of promoting peace and security in the region.

This initiative is part of the second phase of the Strengthening Capacities for Peaceful Co-existence Project, organized in collaboration with the Archdiocese and supported by the Archdiocesan Development Office (TADO).

The primary objective was to empower NRPC members and Regional Security Council members to enhance their response to early warning indicators and electoral preparations through peacebuilding.

Reverend Father Thaddeus Kuusah, the Northern Regional Executive Secretary of NRPC, emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Security Council and NRPC to safeguard the nation's peace.

He also called for closer collaboration to bridge the gap between the two bodies, enabling them to fulfill their mandate in addressing early warning signs effectively.
